Sandra Black
Sandra Black is a leading figure in contemporary ceramics, with a practice spanning more than five decades. Her recent survey exhibition, Sandra Black: Holding Light at the Art Gallery of Western Australia marked a significant milestone in her career. Working primarily in porcelain, she creates finely constructed vessels with pierced and layered surfaces that activate light and space. Her work is held in major international collections, and in 2023 she received the World Crafts Council Asia Pacific Craft Master Award in recognition of her contribution to the field.
